Medicare
Medical insurance is for the diagnosis and management of eye disease. This can apply to many conditions that can cause blurry vision including infections, cataracts, glaucoma and retinal degenerations. Health conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, thyroid, lupus and the use of high risk medications can affect your eyes and require medical evaluation. Other symptoms that would apply to medical insurance include burning, discharge, double vision, dryness, flashes of light, floaters, itching, light sensitivity, pain, red eyes, spots in front of eyes, tearing, etc. Medical insurance does not cover the purchase of eyewear or refractive tests for lenses.
